Creating Agile Supply Chains

For many years the singular focus of companies was on “squeezing cost” out of their supply chains.  Today more and more companies are focusing on agility or responsiveness.

Several methodologies exist today to help companies improve their supply chain performance.  However, confusion seems to exit when companies attempt to select “the best methodology to solve their problem.”   In this session we will explore different methodologies that companies can use to compete in today’s marketplace.  More importantly, we will discuss how these methodologies should be considered a “toolkit” and how theses tools should be integrated to achieve supply chain agility.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Supply chain basics
  • Attributes that contribute to poor supply chain performance
  • Assessing your supply chain attributes
  • Selecting the right methodologies
  • Supply Chain Design:  Integrating the components for a total solution

Specific topics to be addressed:

  • ERP overview (strengths and weaknesses)
  • Integrating Lean and ERP
  • Supply Chain Collaboration
  • Supply Information Flows

Optional:

  • We can play the beer game
