President's Message

Becky WolfeAs President of the SoMN Chapter of APICS, I’d like to say---“Welcome to our web-site. I realize that there are many different reasons that you are browsing our web-site and hope that you will take a few moments today to fully examine the content included in our site to find what you are looking for.  With today’s hectic schedules in the work place and on the home front, we felt it important to provide a “One Stop Shopping” approach so that you can let your fingers do the walking.  We have incorporated information that is specific to our local chapter as well as direct links to Society information.  Please note that you can now associate a face with a name for our local board of directors – see Board of Directors Link and take a look at those photos!!!!

Our chapter board has been working throughout the summer months planning the content for the upcoming year’s monthly Professional Development meetings.  We will again be using a combination of panel discussions, plant tours, seminars, and individual speakers throughout the year to ensure that we provide quality content and get you to as many of our monthly meetings as possible.   We have chosen topics that are impacting each of our companies and have also included some personal enrichment speakers as well.

Our chapter has prided ourselves on the focus to provide numerous educational opportunities to existing and future members.  The form of that education varies from our monthly member meetings, to Certification Review Classes, to Seminars, to information on the annual International Conference.  We are confident that we have something that meets your needs.

Is there something specific that you are looking for and can’t find?   If so, please feel free to check out my contact information in the Board of Directors Link and give me a call or drop me an e-mail.  If I can’t answer your question, I will make sure I find someone who can.

Becky Wolfe

Southern Minnesota APICS Chapter

Southern Minnesota (SoMN) APICS Chapter serves a large portion of southern Minnesota, including Rochester, Owatonna, Faribault, Northfield, Albert Lea, Austin, Mankato and New Ulm.

We are committed to serving our membership by providing high value education, enhancing communications among resource management professionals and advancing the business's ability to succeed in a changing competitive marketplace.

We provide APICS certification educational programs to support CPIM certification (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CFPIM (Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified in Supply Chain Management).

We have Professional Development Meetings (PDM) or plant tours usually on the second Monday of each month, September through May.  The exception would be if we hold a joint meeting with the local chapter of the American Society for Quality or with the local chapter of the Institute for Supply Management.  The PDM meetings include dinner and a quality and highly qualified speaker on some subject relative to operations management or professional development.  To see when the next PDM meeting or plant tour is scheduled, please view our events page.
